Massive Setback For DC as Young Pacer Ruled Out Of IPL 2023 Due To Injury

The ongoing Indian Premier League season has been a forgettable one for Delhi Capitals, as they have suffered five consecutive crushing defeats so far. However, their problems have been aggravated by a fresh injury setback, with promising speedster Kamlesh Nagarkoti apparently being ruled out of the entire season. 

As per a report in News18 Cricket Next, Nagarkoti sustained a back injury just prior to DC's sixth group-stage fixture against KKR and will likely be sidelined for the rest of the season. Once hailed for his ability to move the ball at a rapid pace, the young seamer hasn't lived up to the expectations due to frequent injury setbacks. 

Since debuting in the IPL 2020, Nagarkoti has so far featured in only 12 matches, scalping five wickets at a miserable economy of 9.5. 

After being released by Kolkata Knight Riders, the seamer from Rajasthan was bagged by Delhi Capitals for INR 1.1 Crores in the 2022 mega auction. However, he represented the franchise in only one match, where he conceded 29 runs in two overs. 

Speaking of Delhi Capitals, the David Warner-led side is reeling at the bottom in the IPL 2023 points table. With several players performing abysmally, the Capitals will have an uphill task in front of themselves tonight as they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders.
