After certain reports claiming that the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) is looking to strengthen the support staff especially in the batting department, there is another major development that has now come up. Former English superstar Kevin Pietersen has announced that he is open to join the Indian camp.

This news comes on the back of the BCCI review meeting which took place a few days where many serious discussions took place including the addition of a member in the coaching staff as Indian batters badly struggled in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against Australia.

What did Kevin Pietersen Said?

English batting maestro Pietersen whose international career was marred with controversies, confirmed regarding his availability as the batting coach on social media. The post on X mentioned that "The BCCI exploring possibilities to add a batting coach to India's coaching staff" underneath which Pietersen commented "Available".

Indian coaching staff currently boasts of head coach Gautam Gambhir, bowling coach Morne Morkel, fielding coach T Dilip, while having two assistant coaches Ryan ten Doeschate and Abhishek Nayar.

Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma were key members of the meeting where it was discussed that they need another member to support them during the tough overseas tours as the batters were struggling against the moving ball.

Kevin Pietersen Career

South Africa-born Pietersen, during his time in England was a prolific middle-order batter with centuries in most parts of the world. He was also a very crucial member for them during the away Ashes victory in Australia back in 2010/11 while his record in India during 2012/13 series was unmatchable.
