The thrilling domestic season of Indian cricket is coming back, and fans are already in for some unmissable action. Just before the season starts, Tripura has undergone a massive change.

After spending a domestic season with the state, veteran all-rounder Mandeep Singh has finally parted ways. Taking to social media, the domestic stalwart shared an emotional note as he prepares to embrace a fresh chapter in his cricketing journey.

Mandeep Singh Leaves Tripura

After a year, the thrilling domestic tournaments are coming back, and veteran all-rounder Mandeep Singh took a bold step just ahead of the season. After playing for Punjab for 15 years, he joined Tripura in the last season and is now set to part ways with the state. After joining the side, he led the state across the formats.

Though Tripura failed to go ahead of the group stage, Mandeep Singh led the side from the front, delivering consistent performances. Before moving on to his next chapter, the seasoned all-rounder penned a heartfelt note, expressing gratitude to the team for their trust and support.

“Thank you, Tripura CA, for giving me the opportunity to play last season, I enjoyed my time there. Made some wonderful memories on and off the field. Wishing the team success for the upcoming season. Looking forward to the next chapter,” he wrote.

The Legacy Of The Domestic Stalwart

Known for exceptional all-round abilities, Mandeep Singh is a star of India’s domestic circuit. Making his first-class debut in 2010 for Punjab against Himachal, he scored 6965 runs in 105 matches. His finest moment as skipper came in 2023-24, when he led Punjab to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title after three decades. His domestic career witnessed a remarkable shift as he joined Tripura last season, ending a 15-year stint with Punjab. 

Leading his new side, he raised his bat on high. In six Ranji Trophy games, he scored one century and five half-centuries. Though Tripura missed out on being in the knockouts, the all-rounder amazed fans. Just not domestic, he has showcased his excellence in the IPL stage too. His last IPL appearance came in 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders.  As the veteran player is yet to announce the next step, fans are in for more exceptional knocks from him.
