Maheesh Theekshana withdraws his name from BBL draft

As per the emerging reports, Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana has withdrawn his name from the Big Bash League Season 12 (BBL 12) draft. 

Theekashana is set to represent the Johannesburg Super Kings in the CSA T20 League 2023, whose schedule is likely to clash with that of the BBL. Probably, this has prompted the right-arm tweaker to make himself unavailable for the Australian T20 league. 

Notably, Theekshana has played nine games for Johannesburg's parent franchise Chennai Super Kings, picking twelve wickets at a decent strike rate of 17.50. The 22-year-old spinner is known for his deceptive variations.

In another remarkable event, Sam Billings has confirmed his participation in the BBL this year. The dynamic English keeper-batter has put his name in the platinum category of the draft alongside the likes of Jason Roy, Andre Russell, Faf du Plessis and Liam Livingstone etc.
