Maharaja T20 league, HT vs GM: Luvnith Sisodia outclasses Jeswath Acharya to hand Hubli a thumping win

The 18th match of the ongoing Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 league witnessed Hubli Tigers decimate Gulbarga Mystics by five wickets, riding on Luvnith Sisodia's match-winning knock.

Sisodia's unbeaten knock seize the day for the Tigers

While chasing a challenging total of 178, Hubli lost opener Mohammed Taha to Vidhwath Kaverappa in the third over. Naveen MG and Srinivas Sharath also couldn't contribute much with the bat, managing just 17 and 10 runs, respectively.

However, these dismissals had a negligible impact on Luvnith Sisodia as the swashbuckling southpaw kept playing his shots fearlessly. The 22-year-old smashed ten fours and four sixes on his way through to a blazing 55-ball 96* and saw Hubli home with ample support from Swapnil Yelave and skipper Abhimanyu Mithun.

Pranav Bhatia was Gulbarga's best bet with the ball, picking one wicket for 14 runs.

Acharya's scintillating knock goes in vain

Earlier, after being put into bat, Gulbarga Mystics got off to a flier, thanks to a magnificent 78-run opening stand between Luvnith Sisodia and Rohan Patil. However, Naveen MG brought smiles back in the Tigers' camp by dismissing Patil and KL Shrijith in quick succession.

Although wickets tumbled at one end, Sisodia counterattacked and stroked a flamboyant 58-ball 89 before being dismissed by Vasuki Koushik in the seventeenth over. His knock, glittered with six fours and seven maximums, played a huge role in propelling the Mystics to a formidable total. However, his valiant efforts eventually went in vain as Hubli secured a stunning victory.

Naveen emerged as Hubli's most successful bowler, scalping two wickets for 32 runs.
