In a latest update, the 46th match of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, which was set to take place between the Lucknow SuperGiants and the Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on 4th May 2023, has now been preponed.

According to a latest press-release from the IPL, the fixture will now be held a day earlier- on Wednesday, 3rd May- at the same venue. The timings of the game have not been altered. It will be a day game as previously scheduled for May 04.

The reason behind the preponement is the Lucknow Municipal Corporation Election, which is set to take place on May 04.

This is the second time that LSG and CSK will lock horns in IPL 2023.

The previous encounter- at the M. A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai- between these two sides proved to be a pulsating high-scoring affair, where the KL Rahul-led SuperGiants eventually went down by 12 runs in their pursuit of 218.

Overall, the SuperGiants are at the 2nd spot after having won 3 out of their first 5 fixtures.

CSK, on the other hand, claimed the 3rd spot on Monday night (April 17) following a tense 8-run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore in what proved to be another heart-stopping run-fest at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
