In a major boost to the Texas Super Kings roster for the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 season, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been signed.

This move comes a month after Stoinis silenced the Chennai Super Kings fans with a blistering hundred in the IPL 2024. The 34-year-old, who is known for his aggressive batting and ability to take crucial wickets, will now don the yellow jersey for the Texas franchise.

Marcus Stoinis, set to turn 35 in August, is currently part of Australia’s World Cup squad in the Caribbean, although he does not have a central contract for the 2024 season.

Despite this, he remains a formidable force in the T20 circuit, coming off a stellar IPL season where he scored nearly 400 runs in 12 innings at a healthy strike rate of 150.

Joining Stoinis at the Texas Super Kings are fellow Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) player Aaron Hardie, New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, South African T20 skipper Aiden Markram, and Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq.

The Texas Super Kings will kick off their campaign against the Los Angeles Knight Riders on July 6th, and fans are eager to see how Stoinis will perform.

The MLC 2024 season promises to be exciting, especially with a significant presence of Australian talent. Alongside Stoinis, stars like Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, and Travis Head are set to feature in the league.

This influx of top-class Australian cricketers enhances the league's prestige and competitiveness. Notably, only four Australian players will be participating in this year’s The Hundred competition, highlighting a shift in the cricketing world order favoring MLC.
