After securing an emphatic win in Birmingham, India are preparing to take on England in the third Test of the ongoing five-match series at Lord's. Ahead of the much-anticipated encounter, the first glimpse of the pitch at the Home of Cricket has grabbed the attention of fans and experts.

Green Deck Likely At Lord's For IND vs ENG 3rd Test

Pitches in England have mostly been batting-friendly since England have adopted their much-talked-about 'Bazball' approach and started playing an aggressive brand of cricket. The tracks at Headingley and Edgbaston were no exception, as the hosts stuck to their tried and tested strategy, even winning the series opener comfortably.

However, their unexpected defeat in Birmingham seems to have forced England to modify their plan A and prepare a relatively spicier deck at Lord's. According to the latest pictures, the track at Lord's has a lush green covering, suggesting a lively pitch for the third Test against India.

Of course, the chances of the grass getting trimmed a day before the Test are high. However, if we go by Brendon McCullum's recent statement, the English think tank seems more inclined to a seam-friendly pitch rather than a placid surface.

Pitch Conundrum Frustrates England After Edgbaston Defeat

After India's clinical win in Birmingham, England captain Ben Stokes critically evaluated the Edgbaston pitch, highlighting its transformation to a subcontinental deck towards the fag end of the game.

On a track that continuously deteriorated, the English batters succumbed to India's relentless attack spearheaded by Akash Deep. This probably prompted the hosts to ask for more spice at Lord's, with the threat of being 1-2 down in the series seriously looming over them.

In such a scenario, it will be interesting to see how things pan out at Lord's if England actually take the risk of unleashing their swashbucklers against India's fearsome pace battery, which is going to be further strengthened by the return of Jasprit Bumrah.
