Veteran Australian cricket team's opening batter David Warner earlier announced that the ongoing test series against Pakistan will be his final appearance in the whites for his country.

Warner is calling it quits after representing Australia in 111 tests wherein they scored 8695 runs, 26 hundred, 36 fifties, and 3 double hundreds. Undoubtedly, David Warner will be remembered as one of the finest red ball players in Australian cricketing history owing to his glorious run fest.

Having said that, David Warner played his final boxing day test at Melbourne Cricket Ground earlier today as Australia defeated Pakistan by 79 runs in the second test match of the three-game series.

Warner Bids Adieu To MCG

It was also Warner's last game at the iconic MCG Ground, and thus, after the commanding win, the opener took a victory lap and thanked the crowd for its support and love over the years.

Not only that, David Warner posed with his wife Candice Warner and three daughters after the game. The pictures of the same were shared by Candice later on Instagram with an emotional caption.

"Last photo on the MCG with the family. @davidwarner31, we are proud to have been on this journey with you. @thewarner.sisters," she wrote in her Instagram post.

That being said, Warner is poised to don the white for the final time at his home ground in Sydney. The test will go on floors from January 3rd, and with the test series already under Aussie's control, the opening batter will try to finish off on a high.

David Warner has been through a lot of turmoil in recent times. The sandpaper gate left a deep scar on his career, which will probably continue to haunt him for the rest of his life.

His former IPL team, SRH, also treated him indifferently after David Warner was pronounced the key accused in the Sandpaper scandal. Subsequently, he and his family went through tough mental and emotional battles.

Yet, defying the odds, David Warner produced an awe-inspiring comeback and whitewashed his image in international cricket.

Hopefully, David Warner gets the fairytale ending he perhaps deserves.
