Kolkata Police Quashes Rescheduling Rumors
The IPL fever is on and the cricket fans of the City of Joy can't wait to cheer loudly for their favorite stars. KKR is set to kick off their campaign at Eden Gardens, but the spotlight turned to their April 6 clash against LSG, which coincides with Ram Navami celebrations.
The buzz about rescheduling the match due to safety concerns. But Kolkata Police’s recent social media post put all the buzz on end as they said they are ‘committed to ensuring the safety and security’.
“Certain misleading posts are being circulated regarding the proposed rescheduling of the IPL match on 6th April. Kolkata Police remains firmly committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. All deployment decisions are made keeping public safety as the top priority. Kolkata Police – With you, Always.” Kolkata Police stated.
Earlier, CAB President Snehasish Ganguly addressed the issue, stating that Kolkata Police had concerns about providing adequate security on the day. Even the association also discussed with BCCI to reschedule the match. But the answer is yet to be received from the board.
