India’s top-ranked T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, is all set to return in the four-match T20I series against South Africa, which is set to commence on November 8. Returning to international cricket after nearly a month, he is prepared to take on the Proteas and is also aiming to surpass India’s star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to become the Indian batsman with the most T20I runs against South Africa.

The star batter is 49 runs behind India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli and needs 84 runs to overtake Rohit Sharma. Currently, Rohit holds this elite record among Indian batsmen, having scored 429 runs in 18 matches. He is followed by Kohli, who has scored 394 runs in 14 matches. Suryakumar is currently the third-highest run-scorer in Men’s T20I cricket.

The list is currently topped by South Africa's middle-order batter, David Miller,  who has scored 452 runs in 21 matches.

Suryakumar Yadav Six Sixes Away To Join Unique Record

Suryakumar Yadav is on the cusp of achieving another milestone; the 34-year-old is six sixes away to reach 150 sixes in the T20I format. He is currently joint at third with 144 sixes and  West Indies star Nicholas Pooran. Only two cricketers, Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill, have more than 150 sixes in T20Is in the shortest format.

Former Indian T20I captain Rohit Sharma tops this list with 205 sixes in 159 innings. Suryakumar will be keen to reach these milestones during the four T20I matches, which are scheduled for November 8, 10, 13, and 15 in Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg, respectively.
