KL Rahul, the star Indian batter who will be playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 is all set to don a new role in the marquee league. DC Hoping For KL Rahul's Champions Trophy Form To Translate In IPL
The Karnataka batter has played most of his IPL cricket as an opener with 99 innings out of 123 coming in at the top of the order. He has an excellent record as well, but strike-rate has been a bit of an issue and there have been calls for him to shift down the order in T20 cricket.
KL has batted in middle order for India in Test cricket and ODIs. He has done that with good amount of success as well, and his recent match-winning performances in Champions Trophy at number six might have prompted the franchise to try him out in middle order during IPL as well.
Also, the absence of Harry Brook to seems to have played a role as KL Rahul's experience could help DC navigate smoothly in the middle overs. KL Rahul has been bought by DC for 14 Crore after he left LSG. There were initially speculations that he would lead DC as well, but the franchise will be led by Axar Patel this season, and would be hoping that he takes them to a title win.
