In an unfortunate turn of events, KL Rahul has reportedly been ruled out of the Ireland series as well as the Asia Cup. During the IPL 2023, Rahul sustained a thigh injury, following which he was ruled out of the tournament. As reported by Cricbuzz, the experienced batter is still under rehabilitation at the NCA and is unlikely to get fit for the Asia Cup scheduled in September this year.

Meanwhile, to the delight of Indian fans, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has started bowling in the nets and could make his comeback during the Ireland series.

So, Bumrah, who hasn't played a single game since September last year owing to a career-threatening back injury, could also feature in the Asia Cup, set to take place after India's Irish tour.

On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer, who was ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a back injury, remains doubtful of a comeback in the near future. As the report suggests, there is no guarantee that Iyer will be available for the Ireland tour as well as Asia Cup.

Talking about team India, the Rohit Sharma-led outfit is currently in West Indies, involved in a two-match Test series against the home side. After that, they will play a three-match T20I series against Ireland before participating in the Asia Cup scheduled in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
