In what is a happy news for the Indian team, their star gloveman KL Rahul has started wicket-keeping practice.

Rahul also batted in the ongoing conditioning camp at Alur yesterday. There were reports that he is yet to reach the fitness level where it will be possible for him to commence wicket-keeping drills.

However, in the fresh pictures which came from the camp today, it can be seen that the 31-year-old has finally donned the gloves.

Besides the wicket-keeping practice, Rahul also spent considerable time on his batting.

Rahul, not yet fully fit?

Although Rahul has been included in the India Asia Cup squad, it was confirmed by the chief selector Ajit Agarkar that there is a possibility that he may miss a game or two.

The reason being that Rahul currently has a niggle. Notably, he has recovered from the thigh injury he suffered during the IPL 2023.

This leaves India with the only option in the form of Ishan Kishan as there is no other wicket-keeper in India's 17-player contingent.

India will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan on September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
