In a significant development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) senior national selection committee finalised India's 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup late on Saturday night. One name that stood out in the list was of KL Rahul, who has now been given the green light by the medical team to join the Asia Cup squad.

Rahul's inclusion in the World Cup squad had been the subject of speculation due to concerns about his fitness. However, the latest report in The Indian Express confirm that he has been cleared by the medical team, paving the way for his participation in the Asia Cup 2023.

Looking ahead, the medical team confirmed about his recovery and is confident that he is fit and ready to travel to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup.

Earlier, in the India vs. Pakistan match in Pallekele, rain played spoilsport, and the match was called off. This match had an interesting twist as wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan, who played in place of KL Rahul, showcased his exceptional skills. Kishan's brilliant innings of 82 off 81 deliveries proved crucial in rescuing his side from a critical situation.

With Rahul's return and the promising performance of Ishan Kishan, Indian cricket enthusiasts have more reasons to look forward to the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup.
