KKR Rope In AFG Prodigy For Mujeeb, RR Replace Prasidh With Maharaj For IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have played their cards wisely, announcing crucial replacements to bolster their squads for the injured Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Prasidh Krishna for IPL 2024.


IPL 2024: KKR & RR name replacments for injured players

KKR, in a calculated gambit, has roped in the budding talent Allah Ghazanfar as a replacement for the injured Mujeeb. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have added seasoned South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj to their arsenal, filling the void left by Prasidh Krishna.

Allah Ghazanfar, a new knight in the KKR armoury, steps into the IPL fray with a modest yet promising cricketing pedigree.

With two ODIs under his belt for Afghanistan, alongside 3 T20s and 6 List A matches, Ghazanfar has already showcased his potential by bagging five and four wickets in the respective formats. 

His entry into the KKR camp for a base price of INR 20 Lac is seen as a strategic investment in youth and potential.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have played their ace by enlisting the expertise of Keshav Maharaj.

With an impressive tally of 237 wickets across all formats of international cricket and a wealth of experience from 159 T20 matches, Maharaj is a versatile player who can contribute both with the ball and bat. His acquisition for the base price of INR 50 Lac shows RR's great planning and foresight.

Meanwhile, KKR and RR have kicked off their IPL 2024 campaign with victories against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants. 

These new reinforcements have further strengthened their teams as they look to reclaim their past glory.
