Keshav Maharaj, the South African spinner who strolls onto the cricket field accompanied by the devotional tune of 'Ram Siya Ram,' sends heartfelt regards to the consecration ceremony at Ram Mandir, Ayodhya.

Keshav Maharaj, residing in South Africa, remains deeply connected to his roots as a devoted follower of Lord Rama. He frequently visits temples and shares glimpses on his social media.

Taking to Instagram, Maharaj posted a picture of Lord Rama alongside the caption:

“Jai Shree Ram."

Earlier, the 33-year-old also posted a video on his social media account to congratulate the Hindus residing in South Africa and India for the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, which was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

Here’s what Maharaj said in the video

“I want to wish Mahesh Kumar (Consul General of India in Johannesburg) and the entire Indian community in South Africa all the best for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodha. May it bring peace, harmony and spiritual enlightenment to one and all.”

In a recent interview with PTI, the left-arm spinner, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, where the temple town of Ayodhya is situated, shared how deeply connected he is with Lord Ram.

“For me, God's been my greatest blessing and if I get an opportunity it's the least I can do and it gets you in the zone and get that respect from other players. Respecting religion and culture is important, it's a nice feeling to hear 'Ram Siya Ram' being played in the background,'' Maharaj had said earlier this month.

The Ayodhya temple witnessed the consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol on Monday, attracting a massive audience who tuned in from homes and temples across India via television.
