The South African team set base in Thiruvananthapuram earlier this week for their two World Cup 2023 warm-up fixtures. While their match against Afghanistan in the city's Greenfield International Stadium was washed out owing to rains, they are now slated to face New Zealand at the same venue on October 2.

As South Africa brace themselves for their final warm-up outing, ace spinner Keshav Maharaj recently attended the Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The cricketer even took to his Instagram account and shared pictures of his visit to the holy Hindu site.

Keshav Maharaj was selected in South Africa's 15-player World Cup 2023 squad earlier this month. The 33-year-old recently turned up in four ODIs of his country's five-match home series against Australia, finishing with eight wickets to his name.

Keshav Maharaj and his South African teammates will now face New Zealand in their final warm-up fixture, set to be played on October 2.

The Proteas will subsequently launch their World Cup 2023 campaign with a match against Sri Lanka on October 7. Their much-awaited bout will be hosted by the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
