In a great news coming up from the Kiwi camp, the New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson is all set to play his first game of World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh. Williamson himself confirmed the news in the press conference a day ahead of the game and along with him, Tim Southee is also fully fit now and is available for the all-important game against the Bangla Tigers.

Both Kane Williamson and Tim Southee missed out of the initial two games of World Cup which interestingly, New Zealand dominated and are at the top of table with great net run rate. They are set to be further boosted now with the presence of two of their legendary players, and they would be favorites going into a key encounter against Bangladesh at the Chepauk.

Kane Williamson suffered a severe knee injury during the opening game of IPL 2023 and since then, has been in a race against time to get fit for the World Cup. However, he has recovered better than expected and even batted in the two warm-up games leading into the World Cup. Southee, on the other hand, suffered a thumb injury just before the World Cup but he is fit and ready to go now, setting the stage for New Zealand’s strong side to take the field against the Bangla Tigers.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, were outlclassed by England in their second game after they started the World Cup with a win against the Afghans. They would be looking to fight back and it promises to be a cracking encounter between two quality sides.
