In what is coming as a major development for the Gujarat Titans (GT) side, the South African pace bowler Kagiso Rabada is all set to return. For the unversed, Rabada left the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 midway due to personal reasons.
Kagiso Rabada Could Rejoin GT
The South African pace superstar, Kagiso Rabada, who left the IPL 2025 midway due to a personal home emergency, departed before the 3rd of April, and neither the franchise nor the player himself specified a date for his return.
However now, according to ESPNCricinfo, the news is that Rabada will likely be joining the camp tomorrow and will be available for their next encounter which means he is set to be with the franchise on the 3rd of May, whereas the Titans will be playing against the Mumbai Indians on the 6th of May at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the ongoing IPL 2025, Rabada featured in two of Gujarat's matches against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, respectively, after which he flew back to his home and missed seven games straight, with the eighth currently ongoing against the Hyderabad-based side.
Additionally, the Titans are already missing the services of their New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips, who got injured and is out of the IPL already while Gerald Coeztee gets to play his first game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Narendra Modi Stadium.
Gujarat Titans In Contention For Playoffs
After playing a total of nine matches in the IPL 2025, the Gujarat Titans are currently fourth on the table with six wins and three losses, with 12 points and a NRR of +0.748. With five games remaining, they would want to solidify their position for the playoffs and ensure a smooth sailing for the knockout stage of the tournament.
With Rabada's availability now pretty much confirmed, the Titans would be breathing a sigh of relief as they would have four games before the playoffs with the African pacer on their side to ensure they make use of their chances.
