Just In: Shaheen Afridi Named Pakistan's  Vice-Captain For Tests

In a strategic move ahead of the much-anticipated Test series against Australia, Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Shaheen Shah Afridi as the vice-captain of the national Test team. The left-arm fast bowler, known for his lethal pace and swing, has been a key asset for the Pakistani side. This decision reflects the team management's confidence in Afridi's leadership abilities and his integral role in the bowling attack.

The Pakistan tour of Australia, which kicked off on December 6 and runs until January 7, includes a three-match Test series starting on December 14 at Perth Stadium. As the teams gear up for battle, Australia has named Travis Head as one of their vice-captains, adding another layer of leadership dynamics to the series.


Having recently captained the Pakistan Men's T20 Cricket Team, Shaheen Afridi now assumes the role of vice-captain in the longer format. With an impressive international record, including 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 52 T20Is, Afridi's experience adds valuable depth to the team's leadership structure.
