The big-hitting opening batter for Rajasthan Royals (RR), Jos Buttler has been fined 10% of his match fees for breaching the code of conduct during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that happened at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. This comes after RR defeated KKR convincingly with 14 overs as they chased the total of 150 down courtesy of Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Sanju Samson.

Buttler has accepted to level 1 offence and duly admitted his fault which sees him getting sanctioned under Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

It was seen that the right-hander smashed the boundary cushion to vent out his frustration after getting run out on the score of 0 while batting alongside Jaiswal in the second over.

Earlier, KKR batted first and were only able to post 149 on the board as they failed to score at a brisk rate against the likes of Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal. Venkatesh Iyer struggled early on in his innings but managed to overcome the scare by smashing runs quickly as he ended his innings on 57.

In reply, RR took no time to finish the job with Jaiswal smashing Nitish Rana for 26 runs in the very over and later, scoring the fastest half-century in the history of the IPL.
