England, the defending champions, will be looking to defend their title when the ODI World Cup begins on October 5 in India. The captain of the ship, Jos Buttler, is all set to keep their glory intact in the ICC events, similar to what they achieved in Australia last year in the T20 World Cup under his leadership skills.

Before things get serious, Buttler recently had an interview with the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was asked who would make up his ideal ODI team if he could only pick five players.

In response, Buttler named Rohit Sharma, one of India's top limited-overs batsmen who will lead the Men in Blue in the prestigious competition, to his team. However, the absence of Virat Kohli's name from the list caused quite a stir and sparked much discussion.

Quinton de Kock, Glenn Maxwell, Adil Rashid, and Anrich Nortje are among the others, indicating he wanted one player for each department. Maxwell will be the all-rounder, Rashid will be his designated spinner, and Nortje will be the speedster while de Kock will don the big gloves behind the stumps.

England are currently playing against Bangladesh in their second warm-up match of the World Cup. After that, they will take on New Zealand in the curtain raiser of the tournament at Narendra Mordi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
