‘Jos Buttler is a legend’- Yashasvi Jaiswal recalls experience of sharing dressing room with English star

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in sublime form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy campaign. The Mumbai batter scored a century in both innings against Uttar Pradesh, propelling his side into the finals. The youngster has just played three matches but has accumulated 439 runs at a staggering average of 87.80.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a decent IPL 2022 campaign, which saw him score 258 runs in 10 innings at an average of 25.80. The Rajasthan Royals batter shared the dressing room with the likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, which would certainly be a great experience for the youngster. The left-handed batter was full of praise for Englishman Jos Buttler, who took IPL 2022 by storm.

The English batter smashed four centuries, taking his total run tally to 863 runs in 17 matches at an average of 57.53. In this process, he also collected his first ever Orange Cap. Yashasvi Jaiswal described Jos Buttler as a ‘legend’ who just knows how to make batting easier. Moreover, he praised his teammate for being a modest person off the field.

“Jos Buttler is a legend. He is an amazing person. He is a very good human being. He is our star batsman. It is fun to bat with him, share the dressing room with him and talk to him. He knows how to handle pressure. He knows how to make batting look so easy,” said Yashasvi Jaiswal in an interview with NDTV.

Being a leg spinner himself, Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he did take bowling tips from Rajasthan teammate, Yuzvendra Chahal. Having already shown his prowess in the batting department, Jaiswal is eager to flourish as an all-rounder.

He (Yuzvendra Chahal) told me that I can be a good all-rounder. I told him that I want to be the world’s best all-rounder. I want to be the best in both departments - batting and bowling,” Jaiswal added.

The Ranji Trophy Final is scheduled to commence on June 22, Wednesday between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh. Yashasvi Jaiswal will look to continue in this dream run of form, which could help Mumbai claim their 42nd Ranji Trophy title.
