The English white-ball skipper Jos Buttler is optimistic about getting to his full fitness ahead of the T20 World Cup slated to take place in October-November.

Recently, Buttler was ruled out of the ongoing Men's Hundred competition after he sustained a calf injury while playing for Manchester Originals against Southern Brave.

In five innings, the 31-year-old slammed 205 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 168.18 and played a key role to provide a flourish, especially in the powerplay overs.

In Buttler's absence, Laurie Evans led the team to a victory in the team's latest outing against Northern Superchargers on Sunday.

During his commentary stint for Sky Sports on Tuesday (23 August), the stylish batter hopes to be play in the T20I series against Pakistan in September and ultimately for the World Cup.

"Obviously we have got a big winter coming up with the World Cup on the horizon, we go to Pakistan before that as well," said Buttler.

"I think I have to take it as it comes a little bit in the first few weeks and just manage that and hopefully maybe the back end of Pakistan and especially get fully fit for the World Cup."
