England will take on West Indies for the 2nd Test of the three-match Test series on July 18. The Three Lions will face the Windies at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

In the opening Test match, England beat West Indies by an innings and 114 runs. Former England skipper Joe Root was in great touch as he scored a fifty, and all eyes would be on him going into the second Test because of his impressive record stats at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

It is worth noting that Root is the fourth-highest run-getter at this venue, as the right-hand batter has amassed 786 runs in 12 innings and averages 71.45.

His impressive figures feature four centuries, and only Michael Atherton (1083), Denis Compton (955), and Graham Gooch (936) have more runs than Root at this venue.

It will be the first time that Root will face West Indies at Trent Bridge, but the positive for England is that in his last three innings, Root has scored two tons. The 33-year-old has been dismissed on single digits thrice at this ground.

Also, in the upcoming game, Root would be eyeing to complete 17,000 first-class runs as he currently has 16,859 runs in First-Class cricket across 214 games. He has smashed 83 fifties besides 45 centuries.
