ECB withdraws Harry Brook from the SA20 league

In a significant development, England Cricket Board has withdrawn Harry Brook from the inaugural season of South Africa's first-ever global T20 league, the SA20. 

The news has been confirmed by the Jo'Burg Super Kings, whom Brook was set to represent in the showpiece event. 

Mr Kasi Vishwanathan, the CEO of Jo'Burg's parent franchise Chennai Super Kings, revealed that the ECB wants Brook to rest during the off season, as he plays three formats for the national team. 

Here's what Vishwanathan stated

"Since he plays all three formats, the ECB thinks it is too risky to permit him to play the SA20. We have received the communication from the ECB last night. We will have to look for a replacement."

Brook has grabbed a million eyeballs through some stellar batting performances this year. Renowned for his 360-degree stroke play, the swashbuckling right-hander has amassed 378 runs at a superb strike rate of 137.78 in 17 T20I appearances. 

Furthermore, he emerged as England's trump card in the recently held Test series against Pakistan, slamming 468 runs at a splendid average of 93.60. 

Such a string of stunning performances saw the 23-year-old bag his maiden IPL contract, as he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping amount of INR 13.25 Crores in the recently held mini-auction.
