South Africa's first-ever global T20 league, the SA20, is set to commence in January next year. The participation of global T20 superstars has created a lot of hype about the tournament among cricket fans across the globe.

Legendary former England cricketer is one of the marquee players participating in the event. Morgan, who will represent Paarl Royals, explained how global leagues like SA20 could emerge as a boon for the domestic cricketers.

The swashbuckling southpaw opined that SA20 would allow the domestic cricketers to play alongside the big names and popularise among the masses.

Here's what Morgan stated

"One of the biggest attributes that a strong domestic tournament brings is an opportunity for domestic players to pit themselves against the very best and biggest names in the world,

"I envisage this tournament laying on that platform and what it creates actually is something that cannot be replicated in countries that don't have high-profile tournaments. It creates domestic heroes. In countries that have strong T20 tournaments, or Hundred tournaments, you have players that don't necessarily get opportunities in international cricket but they become household names over the first couple of years."

Morgan, who led England to World Cup glory in 2019, will play alongside David Miller, Jason Roy, Tabraiz Shamsi, etc., for the Royals in the showpiece event. They will take on MI Cape Town in the tournament opener on January 10.
