Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for the month of December 2024 for his stellar outing against Australia ‘Down Under’. The Indian speedster collected 32 wickets during the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, which included 22 scalps across three matches played in the month of December.

Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland also won the award, albeit in the women’s category for her match-winning displays in the ODIs against India and New Zealand.

Jasprit Bumrah pipped Australian captain Pat Cummins and South African cricketer Dane Paterson to win the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of December 2024. The 31-year-old picked up four Australian wickets in the Adelaide Test, claimed a sizzling nine-wicket haul at The Gabba, and snared another nine-fer at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to finish his month with 22 wickets in just three matches.

Bumrah also finished the five-match rubber as its highest wicket-taker (32 scalps) to bag the ‘Player of the Series’ award despite India’s 1-3 drubbing to Australia.

In the women’s category, Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland overcame Smriti Mandhana and Nonkululeko Mlaba to win the prestigious honor. Sutherland hammered down successive match-winning tons against India and New Zealand at the WACA and in Wellington respectively. In the series-deciding third ODI match against the ‘White Ferns’, the 23-year-old scored a cracking 42 and picked up figures of 3-39 to win the ‘Player of the Match’ as well as the ‘Player of the Series’ in Australia’s 2-0 win.

Moreover, Sutherland also picked up a match-winning four-fer earlier in the month against India in Brisbane.
