Former all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has termed England's all-out attacking style nickname 'Bazball' as one of the "worst things' ' he has ever heard.

With the Ben Stokes-led and Brendon McCullum-coached Test team hunting down 4th innings targets at a record rate, #BazBall has been the buzz word in the cricketing folklore this summer.

England gunned down 250+ totals on four consecutive occasions- thrice against New Zealand and once against India- with their all-out attack approach, devised by Baz McCullum.

Since then, the media, fans and pundits have hyped it up as a "BazBall" phenomenon. However, Flintoff prefers calling it "exciting brand of cricket" The " than "BazBall".

"It’s one of the worst things I have ever heard. I’m not interested in that. They’re just playing an exciting brand of cricket that everybody loves watching.” he said as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Ruthless England thump listless South Africa at Old Trafford

Meanwhile, England have come back strongly in the ongoing Old Trafford Test against South Africa following a chastening defeat at Lord's to force a decider in the three-match series.

Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes led the way with the bat with three figure scores to give the hosts a match-defining lead after the James Anderson-led seam-attack knocked over the Proteas for just 151 on the opening day.

Stokes scored his maiden ton as Test captain while keeper Foakes notched up his maiden hundred on home soil as England finished at 415/9 declared.

The South Africans showed a bit of resistance in their second gig but ultimately collapsed to 179 all-out to give the hosts a comprehensive series-equaling victory by an innings & 85 runs.

The series decider will take place at the Kia Oval from September 08.
