Indian opener Prithvi Shaw, who has been facing significant criticism regarding his form and fitness, took to Instagram to share a thought-provoking quote.

Shaw's philosophical take on handling criticism as he eyes IPL 2024 comeback

Amidst the scrutiny, Shaw's Instagram story featured the words, “Accept both compliments and criticism. Because a flower to grow takes both sun and rain.” 

This post has displayed Shaw's philosophical stance in dealing with the challenges and feedback he's encountering.

Shaw, who is gearing up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, has been active on social media, recently posting a video showcasing his practising in the nets. 

This comes after a period of absence from cricketing action, which began in September following a knee injury. Shaw sustained the injury while representing Northamptonshire in a one-day championship fixture against Durham.

Despite concerns over his fitness and a lacklustre performance in IPL 2023, the 24-year-old cricketer has managed to secure his place with the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming IPL 2024 Auction. 

During the last IPL season, Shaw struggled to find form, scoring only 106 runs in eight innings, contributing to a disappointing campaign for the Delhi Capitals. His difficulties at the crease, including being dismissed in similar fashions repeatedly, seemed to impact his confidence, and the consequent absence from national team selection only added to his challenges.

However, Shaw's tenure with Northamptonshire in the domestic one-day competition tells a different story. Before his injury setback, he had an impressive run, scoring 429 runs in just four innings. This performance stands in stark contrast to his recent IPL experiences and shows his potential when in form.

Looking forward, Shaw will be focused on making a solid comeback and regaining his form. His determination is evident in his preparations for IPL 2024, where he is working hard to make a significant impact and reignite his career.
