Team India, under comeback man Jasprit Bumrah's leadership, gunned down Ireland in the second T20I to pocket their three-match series with a game to spare. The speedster claimed two wickets in the match, conceding just 15 runs from his four overs.
Bumrah also snared two wickets in the opening T20I of the series, which marked his return to competitive cricket after nearly a year. Apart from sealing the 'Player of the Match' award in the series opener, the pace veteran has now climbed up the T20I records table among Indians for a huge record.
Jasprit Bumrah jumps past Hardik Pandya in elite list
Jasprit Bumrah has played 62 T20Is for India since he debuted in the format in 2016. With four wickets in the ongoing series against Ireland, the speed demon has extended his T20I wickets tally to 74, thus moving past legendary Indian all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin over the course of just two games since his comeback.
In doing so, Bumrah has now become the third leading T20I wicket-taker among all Indian bowlers. Currently, he is only behind Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the celebrated list.
