Harshal Patel who was the shining light for RCB in the 2021 and 2022 season has been bought for a massive amount of 11.75 Crore by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024 Auction. He was released by RCB ahead of the auctions after mediocre returns in the 2023 season, and seems to have benefitted as his price has been raised by 1 crore.
Punjab Kings who were looking for a quality Indian bowler alongside Arshdeep Singh and can be a handy option at the death. He has the experience of playing in IPL for a long time and would be looking to prove a point after RCB released him. He is a handy batter too and can use the long handle to a good effect, making him a smart buy by Punjab Kings.
Punjab Kings have most of the bases covered and needed some good Indian middle order batters and bowlers. They have ticked one box and would be looking to fill some more gaps as Shikhar Dhawan and company look quite a solid unit going into the IPL 2024.
Harshal Patel was the purple cap holder in the 2021 season of the IPL and Punjab Kings will be hoping for similar performances from the right-handed bowler in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League.
