IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Top 3 Players To Watch Out For On Day 2

The IPL 2025 mega auction has seen the end of its Day 1. It was an intense day as the teams battled it out to get the best players for the various roles. While there some very big names that went under the hammer, there will also be some big names that will be put on auction on Day 2.

Here is a look at the top three players to watch out for during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction Day 2.

1. Faf du Plessis

The release of Faf du Plessis by RCB was one of the biggest surprises when the retention lists came out on October 31. As Du Plessis came up in the market, it was expected that he will be going for high price during the mega auction. However, among the 84 players from the 12 groups who went under the hammer during day 1, Faf du Plessis was not in them. 

Faf du Plessis is a part of Set number 13 which can also referred to as second set of the Batters. This group will be coming up at the very beginning of Day 2 and it is expected that we will see a bidding war for the Ex-RCB captain early on second Day. 

2. Sam Curran

The English all-rounder was one of the most sought after commodities in the last two auctions. However, he was not a part of the sets that went under the hammer during day one of IPL 2025 mega auction. Sam Curran is part of the Set 14 also known as the the All-rounder Set 2. With a few franchises looking to fill up their overseas all-rounder spot, we can expect a small bidding war for Curran during the second day of the event. Notably, he has a base price of INR 2 Cr.

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

The experienced Indian pacer was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL 2024. However, he was released ahed of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not come up for auction during the first day of the event. He is a part of Set 16 also known as the Bowler Set 2, which will go under the hammer on the second day. With the experience and skill-set that Bhuvi brings to the table, he is expected to draw the attention of a few franchises.
