IPL 2022 | SRH vs CSK | Match 46 Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Sunday (1st May) at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Yes, you read it right; MS Dhoni will come out for the toss on Sunday against SRH as Ravindra Jadeja has decided to step down as the team's captain to concentrate on his individual performance.

The CSK all-rounder has requested MS Dhoni to lead the team, and 'Thala' has agreed to allow Jadeja to focus on his game. Notably, during his stint as CSK captain, Jadeja hasn't looked half of what he was for CSK until last year. He scored just 112 runs in 92 balls at a strike rate of 121.74 and took five wickets in eight innings at an economy of 8.19.

The four-time champions have stumbled in all departments this season. They haven't played the quality of cricket they are known for. Bowling has been a major concern for CSK. However, their new bowling contingent has started complimenting the old horse Dwayne Bravo, but they'll need more of them against the SRH's star-studded batting lineup. Young Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is yet to give a match-winning performance this season, needs to step up and deliver with the bat.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, saw their winning streak shattered by Gujarat Titans as the latter outplayed Kane Williamson and Co by five wickets in their previous encounter. The young pace sensation Umran Malik has been one of their best bowlers in the season. His brilliant figures of 5/25 against Gujarat Titans is one of the best bowling displays in the tournament's history.

With 10 points and a terrific NRR of +0.600, Hyderabad is placed at the fourth spot on the points table. Heading into their next game, Hyderabad will look to stick to their same playing eleven, grab two crucial points, and move one step closer to the tournament's main stage.
