In the 38th match of IPL 2022, two teams from the bottom half of the table will lock horns to claim the much needed two points. Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will battle it out at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium has favoured the batters so far in the tournament. Initially, there will be a bit of movement on offer, but once a batter gets in, he can easily go big.

Punjab Kings:

Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan is looking in decent touch but is yet to score big. Consistently is what his team is hoping to see from him.

IPL 2022: In IPL 2022, Dhawan has scored 214 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 126.03 and an RPI of 30.57. His records in this edition are proof of his decent form.

Vs CSK: In the history of IPL, Shikhar Dhawan has played 28 matches against CSK, scoring 989 runs in them. His RPI against the team is 35.32 and has a strike rate of 129.79. He has a century and seven half-centuries against the men in yellow.

At Wankhede Stadium: The left-hander has played 14 IPL matches at the Wankhede Stadium, scoring 486 runs. His RPI at the venue is 34.71, and his strike rate is 130.64. So, the conditions of the venue work in his favour.

Fantasy Indicator: Green

Rahul Chahar: Rahul Chahar has been the prime wicket-taking option for PBKS in the tournament.

IPL 2022: In seven matches, Chahar has picked up ten wickets. His economy rate is 7.32, and his strike rate is 15.9. In a spell of four overs, it is expected that he will concede about 28-30 runs and at least pick up one wicket.

Vs CSK: Chahar has nine wickets to his name in the nine matches that he has played against CSK. Moreover, Chahar bowls at an excellent economy rate of 5.79 against them. In the previous encounter between the two teams, Chahar picked up three wickets, conceding 25 runs from his four overs.

At Wankhede Stadium: Rahul Chahar has played seven IPL matches, picking up three wickets. His 

strike rate at the venue is below par, but he bowls with an economy of 6.47 at the venue.

Fantasy Indicator: Yellow

Liam Livingstone: Liam Livingstone has been the most important cog of the PBKS batting.

IPL 2022: In the seven matches in the tournament, Livingstone has scored 226 runs at a strike rate of 182.26. His RPI in the tournament is 32.28, and he is looking in prime form in the tournament.

Vs CSK: He has played one match against CSK, which was the previous encounter between the two teams in this edition. He scored 60 runs at a strike rate of 187.5 and picked up two wickets. It was a dream outing for Liam.

At Wankhede Stadium: Livingstone has featured in two matches at the venue and has scored just 20 runs in them. He has not felt at home in the little that he has played at the venue.

Chennai Super Kings

MS Dhoni: With an unreal effort in the last match, MS Dhoni will be carrying the hopes of Chennai if and when the team finds themselves again in the same position.

IPL 2022: MS Dhoni has played six innings in the tournament, scoring 120 runs. While in a few innings, he has looked like his old self in others, he has found it hard to get going. However, his overall strike rate in the tournament is 131.87, and the average is 60.0.

Vs PBKS: MSD’s records against PBKS are very impressive. In the 23 innings that he has batted against them, he has scored 630 runs at a strike rate of 148.23. However, in their previous encounter in this edition of IPL, Dhoni found it challenging to get going and scored only 23 runs off 28 deliveries.

At Wankhede Stadium: MS Dhoni has played 19 innings at the venue in IPL and has scored 337 runs in them at a strike rate of 117.83. However, his RPI is just 17.73, so MSD finds it difficult at the venue.

DJ Bravo: Bravo is more than handy with the bat in hand, but he has rarely got a chance to bat in this edition of the tournament and is playing more as a specialist bowler.

IPL 2022: In the seven matches he has played in the tournament, he has picked up 12 wickets conceding runs at a rate of 8.45 per over. With the bat in hand, he has batted in just four innings scoring just ten runs.

Vs PBKS: Against PBKS, Bravo has played 20 matches where he has scored 210 runs at an average of 30. With the ball in hand, he has picked up 24 wickets against them at an average of 20.83. His record is very impressive against PBKS.

At Wankhede Stadium: In 17 matches at Wankhede Stadium, Bravo has scored 187 runs. He has also picked up 24 wickets at the venue at an average of 20.62.

Robin Uthappa: Robin Uthappa has been a vital part of Chennai’s batting effort in this season of IPL.

IPL 2022: In seven matches, Uthappa has scored 227 runs at a strike rate of 147.4, and his RPI for the tournament is 32.42. He has been in decent touch in the tournament.

Vs PBKS: Robin Uthappa has played 30 matches against PBKS and has scored 771 runs at a strike rate of 136.46. His RPI is 25.7, and he has scored four half-centuries. Thus, the record for Uthappa is about average against PBKS.

At Wankhede: Uthappa has played 13 matches at Wankhede Stadium, scoring 357 runs at a strike rate of 117.82. However, his RPI is just 27.46, and he does not find the venue ideal.
