IPL 2022 | Matthew Wade reprimanded for his outburst against RCB

Gujarat Titans' (GT) keeper-batter Matthew Wade has been reprimanded for his angry reaction following his controversial dismissal against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2022

Wade was extremely upset and furious after getting dismissed in the match. The Australian cricketer entered the dressing room and expressed frustration by throwing away his bat and helmet. He was caught on camera while doing this activity in the dressing room.

Taking note of the Australian cricketer's behaviour, the disciplinary committee reprimanded the left-handed batter.

The official IPL release stated, "Matthew Wade from Gujarat Titans has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai."

"Mr Wade admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the match referee's decision is final and binding," added the release.

In the IPL 2022, so far, the batter has failed to register a big score for Titans, and he failed to play a big knock for the Hardik Pandya and Co. against RCB as Glenn Maxwell dismissed him on the second ball of the 6th over and he managed to score just 16 runs off 13 balls, including 2 fours and one six.

Maxwell delivered a length ball angling towards the stumps to Matthew Wade, and the Gujarat Titans batter went for the sweep, and it seemed like he under-edged the ball onto the pad. So he went for the review but couldn't get the decision in his favour as there was some technical error, and the Ultra-edge couldn't detect anything.

The third umpire decided to go with the on-field umpire's decision, and he also gave it out, which made Matthew Wade extremely angry after his dismissal.
