India to host Australia and South Africa in white ball games ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022

Team India will host Australia and South Africa for three T20Is each in September-October before heading to Australia for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which kicks off on October 16.


The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly confirmed that India will play two white ball series against South Africa and Australia at home.

"We will host South Africa and Australia for three T20Is each before going for the T20 World Cup," BCCI president Sourav Ganguly informed reporters after a meeting of the Board's Apex Council on Thursday.


Ganguly further said that the venues which couldn't host the matches during South Africa's last visit to India- Ranchi, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Indore, and Mohali will host the white ball games against South Africa and Australia.



"South Africa will come to India after concluding their ongoing England tour (in September). All those venues which didn't get to stage a game against SA- Ranchi, Nagpur, Hyderabad. Lucknow, Indore, Mohali- will host T20Is against SA and Australia," Ganguly said.


Venues confirmed for the white ball games  

India will first lock horns with Australia for a three-match T20I series which will begin on September 20 in Mohali. The second and third games of the series will be played in Nagpur on September 2 and in Hyderabad on September 25, respectively.


After that, the men in blue will take on the Proteas for three T20Is which will be played on September 28, October 1, and October 3 in Trivandrum, Guwahati, and Indore.


After completing the T20I leg of the Proteas tour, they'll play a three-match ODI series that is slated to be played in Ranchi on October 6, Lucknow on October 9, and Delhi on October 11.
