India has created history with an impressive win over the Aussies in the first ODI by becoming the first Asian team to rank number 1 across formats. India is only the second team after South Africa to achieve this feat and it shows how India have dominated world cricket in recent times. India have removed Pakistan from the number 1 position with a win over the might Aussies and now have 116 rating points compared to 115 for Pakistan. Australia, on the other hand, is ranked third in the list.

India were already leading the charts in the Test and T20I format and have achieved a rare triplet by becoming the number 1 ranked ODI team as well. The World Cup in India is just around the corner and this will be a huge boost going into the marquee event. The fact that India have chopped and changed their side consistently in the last couple of years and have still able to achieve this feat, is quite an accomplishment.

Indians are dominating the ICC rankings individually as well with number 1 Test, ODI bowler, T20I batter, Test all-rounder all Indians which is quite an achievement and speaks a lot about the health of cricket in the country. India won the first ODI by five wickets and would like to continue their dominance and momentum in the second ODI between the two teams on 24th of September at Indore.
