In a major setback, all-rounder Deepak Hooda chances of securing a bid at the IPL 2025 mega auction, is now under serious threat. According to the reports of Cricbuzz, the BCCI has reportedly placed Hooda’s bowling action on the list of suspected actions.
This significant development has come just days before the highly anticipated auction for the marquee tournament. While Hooda has not yet been banned from bowling, the uncertainty surrounding his action could impact his reputation as an all-rounder.
It is also important to mention that, the timing of this development couldn't be worse for Deepak Hooda, who was recently released by LSG after a lackluster 2024 season. The all-rounder have had a poor outing in IPL 2024 campaign. He scored only 145 runs in 11 matches and failed to take a single wicket with the ball.
This underperformance led to his release by the franchise, and now the bowling action concerns only add to the challenges he faces heading into the auction.

“The BCCI has released the list of bowlers who are either banned for suspect action or are in the danger of being banned. Manish Pandey (KSCA, 157) and Shrijith Krishnan (KSCA, 281) have been banned from bowling while Deepak Hooda, an off-spinner from Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), is in the suspect bowling list. Saurabh Dubey (344, VCA) and KC Cariappa (381, CAM) are also in the suspect list.”
With less than two days to go before the event, the uncertainty surrounding Hooda’s bowling action has cast a shadow over his prospects especially ahead of IPL 2025.
Manish Pandey Banned From Bowling
It is also important to mention that, he is not the only player that has faced scrutiny. Saurabh Dubey and KC Cariappa are also among those whose bowling actions have been flagged by the board. In a more serious turn, veteran batter Manish Pandey has been entirely banned from bowling in any form of competitive cricket.
