To the relief of fans who went to witness the India vs South Africa 4th T20I match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on December 17, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has confirmed that a full refund of tickets will be issued.

Spectators, who purchased their tickets via online and offline mode will be getting full refund following the abandonment of the cricket match due to excessive fog that cloaked the stadium.

How to get refund for online ticket purchase for December 17 match?

Notably, spectators who purchased their tickets online will not have to go through much hassle since the price of the ticket will be refunded through their original mode of payment, be it via Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI payment methods.

“Spectators who booked tickets online will receive a refund of the ticket amount through their original mode of payment. Refund-related notifications will be sent to the registered email addresses. Ticket holders are advised to regularly monitor their emails for further updates," Prem Manohar Gupta, secretary of UPCA, said in an official release.

How to get refund for offline ticket purchase for December 17 match?

Spectators who bought the ticket offline might have to follow some strict guidelines to get their refund. Here’s how they can get their original amount of the ticket price back.

Where to collect the refund?

  • Refunds can be collected from the box office at Gate No. 2, Ekana Stadium.
  • The refund counter will be open on December 20,  21, and 22.
  • Timings for refund collection are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day.

Documents required to get the refund

  • Offline ticket holders must be physically present at the counter for verification.
  • They are required to carry the original physical tickets.
  • A copy of a valid government-issued ID must be produced for identity verification.
  • Customers must submit all required documents at the counter.
  • Bank account details must be provided to process the refund.
  • Ticket holders need to fill out the refund form available at the counter with accurate and relevant information.
  • The original tickets must be submitted along with the completed refund form for verification.

It is important to note that the refunds will be processed only after successful verification of tickets, documents, and details. 

Once verified, the refund amount will be credited directly to the respective bank accounts provided in the form. The Ekana Stadium organisers will initiate refunds after completing the due verification process.
