There has been an immense rise in recognition of the Madhya Pradesh batter, Rajat Patidar in the last few months. After consistently performing for his state team in the last few years, the Patidar became a notable name after his performance for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, earlier this year.

Patidar, who previously went unsold in the IPL auction, was brought in by Royal Challengers Bangalore as the injury replacement of Luvnith Sisodia. He scored a century against Lucknow Super Giants in Eliminator, followed by a half-century against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier two and made his first mark in India’s Premier T20 competition.

Following that, the 29-year-old continued his golden run in the Ranji Trophy knockouts, scoring two half-centuries in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively, and a century in the final against Mumbai to lead Madhya Pradesh to its maiden Ranji Trophy title.

His brilliant run in the Ranji Trophy earned him a place in the India A squad against New Zealand A where he managed 319 runs at an average of 106.33 including two centuries in the three 4-day games and an unbeaten 45 in the first one-day.

In-form Patidar not thinking much about the future

Ahead of the second limited-overs contest against New Zealand A, Patidar talked about his expectations after having a successful last few months. He is currently more focused on learning and looking to enjoy his time in the middle.

"Right now, I am just enjoying my batting," said Patidar.

"I’m not thinking about the future. When you are scoring runs you are in a good frame of mind, but even when you are not scoring, you can still learn from your mistakes,” he added.

Patidar reveals reason behind his success in all-formats

Patidar further shed light on his mental strength which helps him to switch from one format to another. He gave a lot of credit to his state team's coach Chandrakant Pandit for his recent run of form in all three formats.

"Pandit sir has given me guidance on how to have a clear mind and assess different formats of the game. My strength has always been to get into a good position and timing the ball well. I am a good timer of the ball but if I go hard, I won’t be successful. At the same time, I can hit big sixes. The mind is important as there is a difference between the red-ball and white-ball format," he concluded.
