The Asia Cup fiasco for the Men In Green continues to rage on following their humiliating exit from the 2023 Asia Cup. They entered the tournament as hot favorites with their key players firing on all cylinders. But it all started falling apart when they were crushed by their arch-rivals India by a massive margin of 228 runs.

That colossal defeat left a scare on Pakistan’s morale as a side and dented their team spirit exponentially. Subsequently, they faced Sri Lanka in a do-or-die clash which they lost in a very close encounter. That is when the Pakistan team reached a breaking point and what followed after their heartbreaking defeat was ugly scenes that emerged from their dressing room.

In a viral video that surfaced from Pakistan’s dressing room, Babar Azam was seen having a verbal spat with many of his teammates including Shaheen Afridi. Tensions were rife and Mohammad Rizwan stepped in just at the right time to put a lid on the simmering heat.

It is being learnt that Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq has recently landed into trouble after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) uncovered his involvement in leaking dressing room secrets. If proven guilty, PCB will be compelled to take stern action against him which could potentially jeopardize his chances of playing in the upcoming World Cup.

At present, the Pakistan Cricket team is continuing to grapple with several other challenges. Naseem Shah is set to miss the entire World Cup after suffering a shoulder injury during the Asia Cup tournament. Additionally, Haris Rauf and Agha Salman also suffered injuries and are doubtful to be in action during the opening phases of the ODI World Cup.

With the World Cup looming large, Pakistan would be eyeing to bounce back and brush their humiliating Asia Cup exit aside.
