The retention list for the 2024 ILT20 edition is out, and it has several high-profile players still playing for respective franchises, while few clubs have managed to shed off a lot of players.

Some of the big names that have been retained are Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Alex Hales, Trent Boult, Joe Root, Wanindu Hasaranga, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite, Shimron Hetmyer, Sikandar Raza.

One of the biggest names missing is England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who played for Sharjah Warriors last year.

MI Emirates and Desert Vipers have retained 12 players, while defending champions Gulf Giants have 11 players in their squad. The least number of players retained is four by Dubai Captials, followed by Sharjah Warriors (6) and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (8).

The salary cap for franchises remains USD 2.5 million, with a minimum spending of 1.5. Each team can have a maximum of 22 and a minimum of 18 members in their squad and can sign new overseas players until July 31.
