In a remarkable turn of events, the Netherlands have stunned West Indies in ICC World Cup qualifiers, handing them a gut-wrenching defeat in super over. Experienced Dutch seamer Logan van Beek showcased his all-round skills, not only slamming 30 runs off veteran pacer Jason Holder but also delivering a tight over under pressure.

Batting first, West Indies posted a massive total of 374 runs on the board, courtesy of a scintillating hundred from Nicholas Pooran and useful contributions from Johnson Charles, Shai Hope and Keemo Paul.

In response, the Dutch were in a spot of bother, reeling at 170 for four at one stage. However, a tremendous 143-run stand between Teja Nidamanuru and skipper Scott Edwards kept their hopes alive, helping them make a remarkable comeback in the game. After both set batters got out, Logan van Beek came out with all guns blazing, playing a sensational 28-run cameo and helping his side tie the game.

The decision to trust Van Beek to bat in the super over proved to be a masterstroke for the Netherlands, as he smacked former West Indies captain Jason Holder for three sixes and as many boundaries, collecting 30 runs in this process.

In reply, West Indies succumbed to the pressure, managing only eight runs off Van Beek's over and losing the match comprehensively.
