On Sunday, India had a memorable outing on the field, as they swatted aside South Africa in the final to win their first-ever Women's World Cup. After posting 298 runs on the board, India Women bundled out the Proteas for 246 runs, clinching the Women's World Cup title for the first time. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma starred with bat and ball for India, with the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side finally breaking the World Cup jinx. Their clinical triumph is set to earn India Women a massive cash prize, as explained below.

ICC prize money distribution: What amount will India get?

It's worth mentioning that the ICC increased the prize pool by a whopping 297 per cent to USD 13.88 million for the 2025 Women's World Cup edition. An amount of approximately INR 123 Crores will be distributed among the eight participating teams, with India receiving a major share for winning the title.

The ICC will award USD 4.48 million (INR 39.78 crores) to India for winning the Women's World Cup. This amount is almost 239 per cent more than what Australia, the winners of the previous edition, received following their victory in the 2022 final.

Meanwhile, South Africa Women, who finished second in the tournament, will receive exactly half of India's prize money, i.e., USD 2.24 million, which translates to 19.88 Crores in Indian rupees.

Australia and England Women, two teams that lost the semifinals, will receive USD 1.12 million (INR 9.94 Crores) each for finishing among the top four teams. All eight teams will receive USD 250,000 for participating in the event, with the ICC rewarding them USD 34314 per win in the group stage of the competition.

The BCCI will also reward the reigning World Cup champions with an additional amount of INR 51 crores, which will be distributed among all the Indian players, coaches and support staff for turning the 2025 campaign into a landmark success.
