ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 | WI-W vs ENG-W | Match 7, Preview, Predictions, Fantasy XI

As days are passing by we are witnessing more and more exciting matches in the 12th edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup. Game 7 will see West Indies Women facing off against England women. This match will be played on March 9, 2022, at University Oval in Dunedin.

West Indies are at fifth position with two points while the defending champions, England are at the sixth spot as they lost their first game, against Australia.

West Indies on the bank of a magnificent hundred from their opener Hayley Matthews and a fantastic last over by Deandra Dottin defending just six runs won a thriller against New Zealand Women by a margin of 3 runs. Hayley Matthews bowled an excellent spell with the ball as well and picked up 2 for 41.

After that first win, the Windies will be high on confidence and will be ready to put up a tough fight against the English side. Stafanie Taylor would love the contributions from everyone as they hunt for their second win in the ongoing tournament.

On the other hand, England Women despite the hundred from Natalie Sciver lost a close-fought contest against Australia. They were chasing a score in excess of 300 and fell short by 12 runs.

The Brits’ batters showed the fight but their bowlers certainly had an off-day. Heather Knight and her side will want to do better in this game for sure. If they don’t restrict Windies Women’s then it might be another long day for them.

“Representing your country in the World Cup is a special thing. You need to give your best here. We need to learn from our mistakes from the first game against Australia. We need to bowl better. Our batting was good just that we had little too many to chase. We will rectify that in the next game against the West Indies.” - Tammy Beaumont said in an interview after their first loss.

There is a rare possibility that both the teams will go into this battle with the same squad unless there is a last moment crisis. Should be a cracker of a game.
