For each match, teams earn points based on the result:

A win gives the team points depending on the relative ranking of the opponent. Beating a higher-ranked team earns more points, while a victory over a lower-ranked team still awards points but in a lesser proportion.
A loss results in no points or a deduction depending on the margin and the ranking of the opponent.
In the case of a tie, the points are equally shared between the two teams.

After every series or tournament, the total points earned are averaged by the number of matches played by that team during the ranking period. This gives the final rating, a key indicator of a team’s overall performance.
