ICC Women’s CWC 2022 | IND-W vs PAK-W | 4th Match Preview, Predictions, Fantasy XI

After the clash of one pair of arch-rivals(Eng-W vs Aus-W) it’s time for the other one. Game number-4 will see Pakistan Women go head-to-head against India Women on March 6th, 2022. at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

After finishing last in the league table of the last edition of Women's World Cup, Pakistan Women needed to play the qualifiers. But due to COVID-19 that tournament was stopped half-way and the women-in-green qualified for the 12th edition of this major tournament on the basis of team rankings.

In the recent warm-up matches, Pakistan Women won both the games and played well too. Beating White Ferns in a last over thriller and defeating Bangladesh Women by a close margin in a rain-interrupted game, their warm-up games will boost a lot of confidence in the girls.

Nashra Sandhu took 7-wickets in these two games whereas Aliya Riaz was’t dismissed even once and piled 107 runs in two matches. Fatima Sana, Nahida Khan and skipper Bismah Maroof are the other key players to watch out.

On the flip side, the runners-up of the previous edition of the World Cup, India Women’s have had a shocker of a series against New Zealand Women ahead of the ongoing competition. Though they lost it 4-1, the win in the last game will give them some confidence heading into this. However, they are one of the favorites to win this tournament after choking in the finals four years ago.

But it's worth noting that the women-in-blue were able to win both their warm-up games, one in a last over thriller and the other in a comfortable manner. Smriti Mandhana, captain Mithali Raj who is probably playing her last major tournament, young Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur who scored a magnificent hundred in the first warm-up game are the main batting prowess of the Indian side.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad with a four-for and a two-for in the two warm-up games against South Africa Women and West Indies Women respectively will lead the pace attack alongside the veteran, Jhulan Goswami who is also playing her last World Cup. Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma and Meghna Singh are the other bowlers on whom Indian Women side will bank upon.
