In a remarkable turn of events, England's Jos Buttler and Pakistan's Sidra Ameen have been named the ICC player of the month for November in the Men's and Women's category, respectively.

Buttler, who led England to glory in the T20 World Cup Down Under, enjoyed stellar batting success in the showpiece event, slamming 225 runs at an amazing average of 45 and a blistering strike rate of 144.23. His most notable contribution in the tournament was a breathtaking 49-ball 80* that helped the Englishmen thrash India by ten wickets in the all-important semi final.

The swashbuckling keeper-batter thanked people for nominating him and dedicated the award to his teammates.

Here's what Buttler said

"I want to thank the fans for voting for me as the ICC Player of the Month for November. This award is down to the efforts of my teammates in what was the most incredible month of cricket, culminating in winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia,

"It is right up there amongst the best months of cricket I’ve been involved in, and it was pretty special to lead a group of players to the ultimate accolade of becoming world champions."

On the other hand, Sidra Ameen smashed 277 runs during the ODI series against Ireland at home, including the fifth-highest individual score in women's ODIs in the first match in Lahore. Such a string of brilliant outings rewarded her, as she expressed her delight at winning the award, saying,

"I feel great to have won this award. It is also special following my teammate Nida Dar who won the award for October. This shows our team has displayed some great performances in the past few months in international cricket. I would like to dedicate this award to my parents and to everyone who has always supported me and prayed for my success."
